Supplying tea in bulk doesn't mean compromising. At Empire, every shipment carries the same care, character, and quality we've perfected over generations.
~ Lushantha de Silva

At Empire Teas, bulk tea is never just a commodity. Every kilogram we pack carries the story of its origin, the soil, the people, and the care behind it. For decades, we’ve quietly partnered with the world’s most trusted tea buyers, delivering not just volume, but the flavor that holds, quality that lasts, and trust that deepens with every shipment. Our promise is built on three unwavering pillars, authenticity, consistency, and heart.
We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Just like every market is different, every cup should tell its own story. Our collection of teas is as diverse as the customers we serve, crafted with intention and tailored to match your needs.

Ceylon Teas
This is where our heart belongs. With their bright liquor, brisk notes, and unmistakable aroma, Ceylon teas are the pride of our heritage. Whether high-grown and floral or low-grown and bold, our Ceylon range captures the diversity of the island in its purest form.
Nuwara Eliya
Nestled at the highest elevations among Sri Lanka’s tea-growing regions, Nuwara Eliya is famed for producing some of the most refined teas on the island. The cool climate and mountainous terrain contribute to the creation of teas with an exquisite bouquet and a delicate golden infusion. These teas are known for their light body and soft, fragrant character. The region’s most prized offerings are the whole-leaf Orange Pekoe (OP) and Broken Orange Pekoe (BOP) grades, which are sought after for their elegance and clarity.
Dimbula
Situated between Nuwara Eliya and Horton Plains, Dimbula is a region of rolling hills and varied terrain, with all tea estates sitting above 1,250 metres. This high elevation, combined with diverse microclimates, results in teas with a unique range of flavours—from subtle floral hints of jasmine to woody cypress notes. Despite the variation, Dimbula teas share a common trait: a mellow character and a golden-orange cup that is both bright and refreshing.
Uva
Remote and wind-swept, the Uva district lies in the path of both the northeast and southwest monsoons. This climatic exposure imparts a distinctively aromatic quality to its teas, setting them apart with a bold, exotic personality. Uva teas are known for their smooth, mellow flavour that is instantly recognizable. The district gained global fame when Thomas Lipton introduced its teas to the American market, a legacy that endures in every cup of Uva tea.
Uda Pussellawa
Close to Nuwara Eliya but offering a flavour profile of its own, Uda Pussellawa teas are stronger in body and deeper in colour, often presenting a pinkish hue in the cup. These teas are tangy, brisk, and layered with subtle floral nuances, particularly during the cooler year-end period, when a faint hint of rose emerges. With its medium-bodied liquor and a touch more strength, Uda Pussellawa maintains a delicate yet bold character, especially in wetter seasons.
Kandy
As the birthplace of Sri Lanka’s tea industry in 1867, the Kandy district holds historical significance. Its mid-grown teas, cultivated at elevations below 1,300 metres, are known for their full body and vibrant character. Depending on the specific location and exposure to monsoon winds, the flavour can vary, but the infusion consistently yields a coppery brightness. Kandy teas are brisk, robust, and ideal for those who enjoy a strong, flavourful cup.
Ruhuna
Ruhuna lies in the southern lowlands, stretching from coastal plains to the edge of the Sinharaja Rainforest. This “low-grown” region benefits from rich soils and a warm climate, which encourage rapid leaf growth and result in beautifully long tea leaves. Ruhuna teas are bold and full-flavoured, often dark in liquor and characteristically strong. Factories in the region produce an impressive variety of leaf styles, including golden-tipped teas that are both visually appealing and intensely aromatic.
Sabaragamuwa
The largest tea-growing district in Sri Lanka, Sabaragamuwa spans from the southern rainforests to the central highlands’ edge. Like Ruhuna, it is considered a low-grown region, but its flavour profile differs noticeably. Teas from Sabaragamuwa brew into a rich yellow-brown liquor with a reddish hue and a distinctive sweet caramel aroma. Softer than Ruhuna teas, they maintain strength while offering a smooth, elegant experience—truly stylish and unique in every sense.

Single Garden Teas
These are teas that speak for themselves. Plucked from individual estates, our single garden selections preserve the terroir and soul of their origin. From mist-covered mountain slopes to lush valley beds, every garden adds a signature note, a whisper of rainfall, a memory of the morning sun.

African Teas
Strong, full-bodied, and commanding, African teas bring a richness that stands tall in blends and offers depth in every brew. From Kenya to Rwanda, these teas are known for their character and consistency, making them a staple in many global markets.

Chinese Teas
With centuries of wisdom behind every leaf, our Chinese teas honor tradition with grace. From delicate green teas to fragrant oolongs and timeless whites, they are ideal for connoisseurs who appreciate subtlety, elegance, and craftsmanship.

Matcha
For the modern, mindful consumer, our matcha is a story of wellness in every sip. Sourced from select producers, it’s vibrant, finely milled, and full of life, perfect for lattes, blends, or health-focused innovations.

Traditional Orthodox Grades
There’s a quiet elegance in orthodox tea. Each twist and golden tip is a result of time, care, and craftsmanship. Our traditional orthodox grades are handpicked and gently processed to preserve the leaf’s natural form, delivering a cup rich in aroma, layered in flavor, and deeply soulful. It’s tea in its purest, most refined form for those who know that true taste lies in the details.

CTC Teas
For those who like their tea strong and straightforward, our CTC (Crush, Tear, Curl) range delivers every time. Made for high yield and consistent liquor, these teas are bold in flavor and perfect for quick brewing, making them a staple in blends, tea bags, and fast-paced markets. With deep color and robust taste, our CTC teas are a reliable workhorse that never loses its character.
